The White-Wood Sign Panel Premium Medium Density Painted (MDO) Sign Plywood
Specifications:
Handling - Edge Sealing
White-Wood Painted Sign Panel edges are pre-painted but should be sealed with the application of 1-2 coats of a good polyurethane-acrylic based primer and paint, to insure no water permeation on the edges.
- or by applying a good paintable grade caulking so any edge voids are filled and sealed. -sealing the edges with an exterior grade caulking and a suitable edge cap moulding is also an option. - any edges that are cut, or holes drilled through the painted face of the board, must be re-sealed in the same manner as noted above. Cleaning of the White-Wood Painted Panel If cleaning of the painted sign panel is required we recommend the use of a damp cloth only.Use of solvents to clean the panel may deteriorate the paint finish and are not recommended. The painted panel surface must be allowed to dry to assure no moisture is present prior to the application of vinyl.
If panels are stored outside in colder temperatures, they must allowed to acclimatize to room temperature before the application of vinyl. Vinyl Application White-Wood Sign Panel has been tested and readily accepts dry application of sign vinyls. The use of water in the application of vinyl is not recommended as it traps moisture adversely affecting the adhesion of the vinyl and could cause bubbling. Dry application using a laminator is recommended. The adhesive used on todays vinyls can chemically and/or physically bond to the coating on the board. Removal of the vinyl can cause de-lamination due to this bond. Use of products like Rapid Tac or other products containing any form of Isopropyl alcohol will deteriorate the finish of our board and must not be used. We strongly recommend that a customer using this board must test their different sign applications to insure the board is suitable for the intended use. | |||||||||||||||
